Francisco
has
long
believed
itself
to
be
environmental
friendly,
so
when
the
sale
and
distribution
of
plastic
water
bottles
on
public
property
was
banned
following
a
unanimous
vote
by
the
city's
Board
of
Supervisors
in
early
March,
2014,
they
took
to
the
media
to
celebrate.
The
legislation
from
board
president
David
Chiu,
targets
water
bottles
of
up
to
21
ounces
and
will
take
effect
October
1st,
2014,
with
certain
exemptions
until
2016
and
will
apply
to
all
events
on
city
property
starting
in
2018.
