Company History
The Borjomi mineral sources were discovered over thousand years ago, but its water only became famous in Russia and Europe about 150 years ago. In the 19th century the city of Borjomi was chosen as a Romanov royal residence in the Caucasus. In 1850, a mineral water park already existed in Borjomi, and in 1890 the first bottling plant began operating.
Kharaguli national park in the city of Borjomi covers over 700 square kilometers and is considered the largest national park in Europe. It is situated at a height ranging from 850-2,500m above sea level and its natural resources remain largely untouched even today. The Borjomi mineral water deposit is situated in the central part of the Ajaro-Imereti mountain range, at 760-920m above sea level.

Distribution
Today the rights for production, bottling and use of the Borjomi trademark belong to IDS Borjomi Georgia.
Borjomi mineral water is extracted for bottling from nine wells, which are 1,200-1,500m deep, on the territory of the Borjomi reserve. The water has a low level of natural carbonation. The average temperature in the wells is 38-40 C. All bottling lines, equipment and control systems fully correspond to the ISO 22 000international standards. Borjomi is exported to 30 countries and is supplied to Ukraine via the Black Sea from Poti to Ilyichevsk.
